Who are Dot Web Design?
Dot Web Design Ltd is owned and run by Alastair Cassels.
Although I am the only permanent member of staff, I have many business
associates with a variety of skills. The company is based in South-West
London, and has carried out work for clients all over the South of
England as well as abroad. Read more here.
How long have you been in business?
I set up my first site in 1998 and took on my first commercial
client in the same year. The dotwebdesign.co.uk domain name
was registered in 1999. Dot Web Design was incorporated as a limited
company in June 2002.
So you're a "one-man company"? Shouldn't
I hire a large company to design my site?
Of course, that's up to you. If you hire Dot Web Design,
you'll get a friendly face whom you'll get to know well, who won't
use jargon and who doesn't just work 9-5 (I took on and started one
job at 6.30 on a Sunday evening). If I lack the skills needed for a
certain aspect of a job, I bring in someone who has them. I offer an
excellent service and I charge reasonable rates.
If you hire a large company, you'll get lots of people
to talk to, levels of service from good to bad ... and probably a big
bill!
Do you have any job vacancies?
Not at present, although I do get a steady stream of
enquiries. I do occasionally contract out work, or use skilled personnel
for various parts of a job. Please do feel free to send me your CV,
but read these guidelines first.
I regret that I am unable to offer work experience placements
at present.
Can you help me to find a good photographer?
Yes - I have many business associates and can recommend
all sorts of useful people to you. It is well worth using a professional
photographer, because images count for a great deal on the web.
